We are pleased to introduce Biddenham House, a contemporary extension and refurbishment of a character property in Bedfordshire.

 

A key aim of the project was to create a striking addition that contrasts with, yet complements, the original home. The extension features carefully placed openings and a distinctive curved form, maximising natural light and unlocking the full potential of the site.

The design connects old and new through a glazed link, ensuring the contemporary addition feels integrated while maintaining the character of the existing property. This approach creates a future-ready home that balances heritage with innovation.

Material selection was critical to achieving the right balance. After developing initial concepts, we refined the design through 3D CAD modelling, comparing realistic options for scale, layout, and finishes. Our in-house rendering software was also used to position the proposal within its surroundings, helping our clients visualise both the new architecture and the views it captures.
